Empress of the Tang Dynasty. Born a concubine, Wu Zetian took power in 690 and She expanded the Chinese empire deep into central Asia. Part of the Monarch series the concept explores the relationship between nature and power. The shape mimics a butterfly cocoon that will eventually transform into a Monarch.
